"Pasko sa Kalye: A Street Dancing Competition" in Baliwag

An early Christmas holiday celebration called "Pasko sa Kalye: A Street Dancing Competition" was held in Baliuag, Bulacan last Monday, December 14, 2009 and amazingly more than a thousand attended the event.
Pasko sa Kalye is a Street Dancing Competition in which different schools sent their respective dance group to compete. Aside from the prize, the competition is all about bragging rights on which school is the best.

This is amazing. The participatory entertainment that involves the whole community... We here in Canada can learn from you.

There is nothing like a cultural celebration to bring communities together. The costumes and decorative attire in these photos are just so brilliantly designed and displayed. What a positive source of inspiration for all the children and families in these schools.

These are the exact type of activities that get children off of the streets and doing something which will enhance their creativity and bring them together with others. Tradition is important and nowadays many have lost sight of tradition. Events such as these dances bring culture back to all of us.

I love all the photos you have shared. Wonderful post and great blog.
